The St. Lawrence College/Laurentian University Bachelor of Science in nursing class of 2012 had their first-ever pinning ceremony on Thursday, June 7th. The intimate gathering was held at St. Lawrence College and aimed to commemorate the past four years of hard work in addition to the graduation ceremony which was held the next day.
Keynote speaker and retired teacher, Ruth Pollock commented on the purpose of the occasion, “The pinning ceremony is just a special thing that nurses do, having a nursing pin is a long tradition that goes back a thousand years.”
A wreath was also laid in Iroquois, ON by Seaway President Brandi Vanderspank-Wright at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #370 Remembrance Day Service. This wreath was donated by Br. #370 President Bill Vanderspank.
