Dear Members,

Nursing Week (May 10-16, 2021) is approaching. It is an annual celebration of our profession. The Canadian Nurses Association announced this year’s Nursing Week’s theme: #WeAnswerTheCall, “to showcase the many roles that nurses play in a patient’s health-care journey.” Nursing Week occurs on the same week as Florence Nightingale’s birthday, May 12. The International Council of Nurses (ICN) designated the anniversary of Nightingale’s birthday as International Nurses Day (May 12th, 2021), and this year’s theme is Nurses: A Voice to LeadA Vision for Future Healthcare (#IND2021).

During this COVID-19 pandemic, nurses continue to support health and wellness as an integral part of communities even while under enormous pressures. They provide knowledge, expertise, quality care, and comfort. At the same time, they continuously find new ways and create innovations to overcome challenges and adapt to the changes in healthcare. We recognize your courage and commitment!

Thank you for your dedication and contributions in making the world a healthier place!
