Volunteers needed!

Local refugees need a healthy start to their new life in Canada. Help make that happen while growing professionally, developing global health knowledge and becoming part of the Refuge community.

Refuge: Hamilton Centre for Newcomer Health
We are looking for nurses and allied health professionals who can volunteer for Wellness Clinics and be a part of an innovative new approach to refugee health with the focus health promotion during the critical first months of newcomer families' arrival to Canada.

Activities according to your interest may include:
• Initial health assessments.
• Well child and infant visits with developmental screens (can refer clients to our immunization clinics if vaccines are needed).
• Mental health support.
• Healthy diet counseling.
• Brief smoking cessation counseling.
• Chronic pain assessment and counseling.
• Chronic disease management.
• Women's health...
